RESOLUTION NO. 88-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO SEEK ANNEXATION OF 291.6
ACRES OF PROPERTY SOUTH OF THE CURRENT
CORPORATE LIMITS AND DIRECTING THAT AN
APPLICATION FOR THIS PURPOSE BE EXECUTED
AND FILED WITH THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta seeks
to annex an area of real property located within the County of
a) Riverside, State of California, and which is described in
ID Exhibit A", attached here to and by this reference
Cr) incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta was directed by the
m Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission to secure
cooperative agreements for the ultimate logical and compatible
boundaries between La Quinta and the City of Coachella and
Indio; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation is located within the
current Sphere of Influence of the City of La Quinta; and,
WHEREAS, the La Quinta City Council has determined that
the annexation proposal is a logical and contiguous expansion
of the orderly growth of the City of La Quinta; and,
WHEREAS, an environmental assessment has been completed
regarding the proposed annexation, and it has been found that
this action will not have a significant adverse effect on the
environment, and therefore, a Negative Declaration shall be
completed pursuant to Section 15074 of e.t., seq., of the
Government Code of the State of California; and,
WHEREAS, for the above stated reasons and subject to
approval of the Riverside County Local Agency Formation
Commission, the City of La Quinta proposes an annexation to
include all the territory depicted on attached Exhibit A",
defined as uninhabited territory, pursuant to the provisions of
Government Code Section 5600, e.t., seq.; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the La Quinta City Council hereby
authorized the City Manager of the City of La Quinta to
commence proceedings with the Riverside County Local Agency
Formation Commission for the approval to annex the territory as
depicted on Exhibit A'1.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, being the same as hereby
authorized, is directed to file a certificated copy of this

Resolution with the executive officer of the Riverside County
Local Agency Formation Commission.
SECTION 3. That the La Quinta City Council has
determined that this action will not have a significant adverse
impact on the environment and adopts a Negative Declaration for
the project proposal and hereby authorizes the City Manager of
the City of La Quinta to process a Notice of Environmental
Determination regarding this decision.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
La Quinta City Council held on this 26th day of September,
1988, by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Bohnenberqer, Cox, Sniff, Mayor
