A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, ANNOUNCING FINDINGS
AND CONFIRMING THE ENVIRONMENTAL
ANALYSIS FOR THE CHANGE OF ZONE
89-038 TO VILLAGE COMMERCIAL AND
VILLAGE RESIDENTIAL.
CASE NO. EA 89-111
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, did, on the 2nd day of May, 1989, hold a duly-noticed
public meeting to consider the environmental analysis; and,
WHEREAS, said Change of Zone environmental review has
complied with the requirements of The Rules to Implement the
California Environmental Quality Act of 1970" County of
Riverside, Resolution No. 82-213, adopted by reference in City of
La Quinta Ordinance No. 5), in that the Planning Director has
determined after initial study Environmental Assessment No.
89-111) that the project will not have a significant adverse
impact on the environment and that a Negative Declaration should
be filed; and,
WHEREAS, at said Public Meeting, upon hearing and
considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all
interested persons desiring to be heard, said City Council did
find the following facts to justify the adoption of the Negative
Declaration:
1. The Changes of Zone and the preceding Text
Amendment) are consistent with the General Plan.
2. The Changes of Zone and the preceding Text
Amendment) are consistent with the Village at La
Quinta Specific Plan.
3. The Changes of Zone are necessary to assist with the
implementation of the General Plan policies and the
Specific Plan.
4. The areas being rezoned are physically suitable for
the proposed types of development made possible by
the Changes of Zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of La Quinta, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and
constitute the findings of the Council in this case;

^!R9K 2. That it does hereby confirm the conclusion of
Environmental Assessment No. 89-111, in that the
Changes of Zone will not result in a significant
adverse impact on the environment, and that a
Negative Declaration is appropriate for filing.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of
the La Qulnta City Council, held on this 2nd day of May, 1989, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Bohnenberger, Rushworth, Sniff, Mayor Pena
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Bosworth
ABSTAIN: None
