A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO AMEND THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA SPHERE OF
INFLUENCE, AMEND THE CITY OF INDIO'S
SPHERE OF INFLUENCE, AND THAT AN
APPLICATION FOR THIS AMENDED SPHERE
OF INFLUENCE BE FILED AND EXECUTED
WITH THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta seeks an amendment to its existing
Sphere of Influence to include an area of real property located within the County of
Riverside, State of California. The boundaries being Fred Waring Drive on the
south, the northern boundary of the Del Webb project north of 36th Avenue),
Washington Str*et on the West, Jefferson Street on the east and which is further
delineated as Exhibit At* and attached hereto by this reference and incorporated
herein; and
WHEREAS, the La Quinta City Council has determined that the amended
Sphere of Influence is a logical and contiguous expansion of the planning areas and
will contribute to the orderly growth of the City of La Quinta; and
WHEREAS, an Environmental Assessment has been completed regarding
the proposed Sphere of Influence Amendment, and it has been found that this action
will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and therefore a
Negative Declaration shall be completed pursuant to Section 15074 of et. seq. of the
Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, for the above reasons and subject to approval of the
Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission, the City of La Quinta
proposes a Sphere of Influence Amendment to include all the area depicted in
attachment Exhibit t!A* defined as inhabited territory, pursuant to the provisions
in the Municipal Code as defined.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, determined in order as follows:
SECTION 1. The La Quinta City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager
of the City of La Quinta to commence proceedings with the Riverside County Local
Agency Formation Commission for the approval to amend the La Quinta Sphere of
Influence as herein described above to include territories depicted on Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, be the same, is hereby authorizes to file a certified
copy of this resolution with the executive officer of the Riverside County Local
Agency Formation Commission.

#= SECTION 3. The La Quinta City Council has determined that this action will not
have an adverse affect on the environment and adopt a Negative Declaration for the
project proposal and hereby authorizes the City Manager of the City of La Quinta to
process a Notice of Environmental Determination regarding this decision.
