A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN UNINHABITATED CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, AND INCLUDING THE
DETACHMENT FROM THE CITY OF INDIO, AND
ANNEX*ON TO THE LA QUINTA LANDSCAPE AND
LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO.89-I.

WHEREAS, the Loeal Agency Formation Commission of the County of Riverside
adopted its Resolution No.12-93 on February 25, 1993, detaching the area from the City of
Indio's Sphere of Influence and adding the 1.4 acre area to La Quinta's Sphere of Influence as
described in Exhibit *A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of
Riverside, adopted its Resolution 13-93 on February 25,1993, approving the detachment from
the City of Indio and concurrent Annexation No.7 to the City of La Quinta and the City's
Landscape and Lighting Assessment District No. 89-I, as described in Exhibit *A", attached
hereto as referenced above; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Indio has authorized the detachment of the property from
their Sphere of Influence and corporate limits; and,
WHEREAS, the territory to be annexed is uninhibited, there being fewer than 12
registered voters residing therein; and,
WHEREAS, the neasons for this annexation are to provide municipal services to
the area and the owner of land within the territory has given written consent to the annexation;
and,
WHEREAS, the regular county assessment roll is utilized by this City; and,
WHEREAS, the territory will not be taxed for existing general bonded
indebtedness of this City; and,
WHEREAS, the Loeal Agency Formation Commission has authorized this Council
to approve this annexation without notice and hearing and without an election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
La Quinta hereby orders the territory described in Exhibit A" annexed, and directs the City
Clerk of the City of La Quinta to transmit a certified copy of this resolution with applicable fees
required by Section 54902.5 of the Government Code to the executive office of the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Riverside County.
