A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
CO*IISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR REORGANIZATION TO
INCLUDE ANNEXATION #9 AND SPHERE OF INFLUENCE #9 TO THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CONCURRENT ANNEXATION TO THE CITY'S LANDSCAPE
AND LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 89-1 AND CONCURRENT
DETACHMENT IROM THE SOUTHERN COACHELLA VALLEY
COMMUNITY SERVICE DISTRICT AND THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY
REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT.

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, that
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta, California, desires to initiate proceedings
p*rsuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, commencing with
Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for Annexation #9 and Sphere of Influence
#9 and related attachments and detachments; and,
WHEREAS, Notice of Intent to adopt this Resolution of Application has been
given to each interested party and each subject agency; and,
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and a description
of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit *A' attached hereto and by this reference
incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the Sphere of Influence of the
affected City; and,
WHEREAS, it is desired to provide that the proposed annexation be subject to the
following terms and conditions:
The property be prezoned as illustrated and noted in City Council Ordinance #227.
2. The property is designated as illustrated and noted in City Council Resolution 93-30.
WHEREAS, the reasons for the proposed annexation are for municipal services
and with property owner support.
WHEREAS, this Council certifies that based upon the Initial Study the City
Council adopted by MinLite Motion 93-104, a Negative Declaration on April 20, 1993, for
Annexation #9 and related actions.

approved by the City Council of the City of La Quinta and the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Ri*'ersi(1e CoLLnty is hereby requested to take proceedings for the Annexation of
territory as described in Exhibit A", according to the terms and conditions stated above and in
the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta
City Council, held on this 6th day of J*ly, 1993, by the following vote, to wit:

Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Section 5;
Thence Northerly along the Westerly line of said Section 5 to the Northwest
corner of said Section 5, said point also being a point in the Southerly line of
said Section 32. said Southerly line also being the Township line COMMON to said
Township 6 South and said Township 7 South;
Thence Westerly along said Southerly line of Section 32, a distance of 135.96
feet to the Southwest corner of said Section 32;
