CC Resolution 1993-090^"E RESOLUTION NO.93-90 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY OF LA QUINTA AS A GRAFTITI FREE ZONE. WHEREAS, the spread of graffiti throughout the City has become an increasing problem in recent years; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to combat the spread of graffiti in an aggressive and vigorous manner; and WHEREAS, the citizens of La Quinta deserve to live and work in an environment which is free from the visual blight created by graffiti; and WHEREAS, is unfair to the taxpayers of La Quinta to bear the cost of graffiti removal; now therefore, BE IT RESOLYED, by the City Council of the City of La Quinta in regular session assembled on November 16, 1993, that the City of La Quinta is hereby designated as a Graffiti Free Zone and as such will strive to provide a graffiti free environment to the citizens through education, prevention and eradication. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council requests that the District Attorney's office prosecute violators to the fullest extent of the law and that the Courts seek restitution from convicted violators in addition to fines and incarceration where applicable.
