A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE
DIRECTOR OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA FOR A CERTIFICATE OF CONSENT TO
SELF INSURE WORKERS' COMPENSATION LIABILITIES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta, a
municipality organized and existing under the laws of the State of
California, intends to manage Workers' Compensation liabilities
through a self-insurance program with the Coachella Valley Joint
Powers Insurance Authority CVJPIA);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of La Quinta, that the City Manager or his
designee is hereby authorized and empowered to make application to
the Director of Industrial Relations, State of California, for a
Certificate of Consent to Self Insure Workers' Compensation
liabilities on behalf of the City of La Quinta and to execute any
and all documents required for such application.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La
Quinta City Council, held on this 7th day of December, 1993 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Bangerter, McCartney, Perkins, Sniff,
Mayor Pena
NOES: None
