A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA
QUINTA, KNOWN AS ANNEXATION #9, AND
INCLUDING CONCURRENT ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY'S LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT 89-1, AND CONCURRENT DETACHMENT
FROM THE SOUTHERN COACHELLA VALLEY
COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT
LAFCO 93-35-4
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County
of Riverside adopted Resolution 82-93 on December 9, 1993, making determinations
and approving the proposed reorganization to the City of La Quinta of territory
described in Exhibit A'* attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein;
and,
WHEREAS, the reorganization action is taken pursuant to
Government Code Section 57082; and,
WHEREAS, the reasons for this reorganization are to provide
F municipal services to the area and the owners of land within the territory; and,
WHEREAS, the Regular County Assessment Roll is utilized by this
City; and,
WHEREAS, the territory will not be taxed for existing general
bonded indebtedness of this City; and,
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has designated
the City of La Quinta as the Conducting Authority; and,
WHEREAS,the City published the public hearing notice, and
mailed the notice to the property owners based upon County Assessment Rolls per
Government Code Section 57025; and,
WHEREAS, the territory to be annexed is uninhabited, there
being fewer than 12 registered voters residing therein; and,
WHEREAS, the reorganization was approved by LAFCO subject
to the following terms:
In accordance with Government Code Section 56375(o), waive the automatic
detachment from County Service Area 152 based on the following findings:
a. Detachment would deprive the area of services needed to insure the
health and safety of the City of La Quinta and the County of Riverside
in meeting Federal mandates under the Clean Water Act of 1987.

b. The waiver would not affect the City of La Quinta's ability to provide
any service; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a public hearing on
February 15, 1994, to hear and consider all written and oral protests/objections of
all property owners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of La Quinta, Callfornia as follows:
1. Written protests have not been received, but if received, represent less than
50 percent of the assessed value of land within the affected territory.
2. The territory described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof
by reference, is hereby annexed by this Resolution to the City of La Quinta
and including concurrent annexation to the City's Landscape and Lighting
Assessment District 89-1, and concurrent detachment from the Southern
Coachella Valley Community Services District.
3. The City Clerk of the City of La Quinta is hereby instructed to transmit
twenty-two certified copies of this Resolution with applicable fees required by
Section 54902.5 of the Government Code to the executive office of the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Riverside County.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
La Quinta City Council, held on this 5th day of April, 1994, by the following vote,
to wit:

Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Section 5;
Thence Northerly along the *esterly line of said Section 5 to the Northwest
corner of said Section 5, said paint also being a point in the Southerly line of
Section 32. Township 6 South, Range 7 East, San Bernardino Meridian, said
Southerly itne also being the Township line CQUEOn to said Township 6 South and
said Township 1 South;
Thence Easterly along said Southerly ltne of Section 32 to the Southwest corner
