CC Resolution 1994-060^"GA RESOLUTION 94-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA ESTABLISHING SERVICE FEES FOR EXCESSIVE FALSE ACTIVATIONS OF SECURITY ALARMS WHEREAS, the number of false activations of security alarms exceeded 2,000 in a 12 month period between May 10, 1993, and May 9, 1994; and WHEREAS, the time spent by Sheriff's Deputies responding to false activations prevents deputies from conducting legitimate police work during those times of response; and WHEREAS, the taxpayers of La Quinta expect and deserve adequate police protection; and WHEREAS, a decrease in false activations of alarms will increase the amount of time available to deputies to conduct legitimate police work; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of La Quinta in regular session assembled on October 4,1994, that the following service fees are hereby adopted. 1. False burglary alarms in any ninety day period. a. The first and second false burglary alarms in any ninety 90) day period shall not be deemed excessive and no service fee will be assessed. b. False burglary alarms exceeding two 2) in any ninety day period shall result in a service fee of $50.00 for each such false alarm. 2. False Robbery Alarms a. The first false robbery alarm in any ninety 90) day period shall not be deemed excessive and no service fee will be assessed.
