A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF LA QUINTA DESIGNATING THE FALL
ILLEGAL DUMPING CLEAN UP EVENT, OPERATION DESERT CLEAN SWEEP, AS AN EVENT OF
IMPORTANCE
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta has experienced an increase in illegal dumping and wishes
to address the issue on a valley wide basis;
WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Association of Governments Executive Committee has
created an Illegal Dumping Task Force for the purpose of addressing illegal dumping as a valley wide
problem;
WHEREAS, the Illegal Dumping Task Force has planned a series of public clean up events,
kno* as OPERATION DESERT CLEAN SWEEP, to raise public awareness of the illegal dumping
problem;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta endorses and supports the
OPE*ON DESERT CLEAN SWEEP events as being of importance and significance in addressing illegal
dumping.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of La Quinta does proclaim that
OPERATION DESERT CLEAN SWEEP is an event of significance and importance to the City of La Quinta.
