RESOLUTION 94- 74
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING GIFT OF FUNDS
TO SUBSIDIZE YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN THE HIGH
ADVENTURE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, on October 22,1994 two 6th grade classes of La Quinta Middle
School participated in the Make a Difference Day"; and
WHEREAS, the two classes planned a WaIk-a-thon to benefit local
community programs for youth; and
WHEREAS, the classes raised $525, and decided to donate two-thirds of
the proceeds to the City of La Quinta Parks and Recreation Department program High
Adventure; and
WHEREAS, High Adventure is a recreation and therapy program designed
to divert at-risk youth from unhealthy lifestyle choices.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of La Quinta does
hereby RESOLVE as follows:
1. The City of La Quinta hereby accepts the donation of $350 for use as a
subsidy for youth participation in the Spring 95 High Adventure program.
2. The City Manager is hereby directed to deposit said funds in the High
Adventure revenue account.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1994, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Bangerter, Perkins, Sniff, Mayor Pena
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Mccartney
ABSTAIN: None
