CC Resolution 1995-018^ H% RESOLUTION 95.18 A RESOLUTION OF THE C* COUNCIL OF THE CfIY OF LA QUINTA FOR THE ThMPORARY CLOSURE OF THOSE STREETS GENERALLY BOUNDED BY CALLE NOGALES ON THE NORTH, CALLE ARROBA ON THE SOUTH, AVENIDA BERMUDAS ON THE EAST, AND AVENIDA NAVARRO ON THE WEST FOR A SPECIAL EVENT TO BE HELD ON MARCH 25, 1995 APPLICANT: GREAThR COACHELLA VALLEY SOAP BOX DERBY BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of La Ouinta, California, that upon authorization by the City Engineer, the temporary closure of those streets generally bounded by Calle Nogales on the north, Calle Arroba on the south, Avenida Bermudas on the east, and Avenida Navaffo on the west shall be established from 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. pursuant to Exhibits A11 Site Plan) and B" Findings and Conditions of Approval). The Conditions stated below are deemed necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the community. CONDrflONS: 1. Prior to occupation or use of City right-of-way for this event, the applicant shall obtain an encroachment permit from the Public Works Department. 2. The applicant shall submit a traffic control plan for the City's review. An encroachment permit will not be issued until the traffic plan has been approved by the City Engineer. 3. The traffic plan shall indicate the locations of proposed blockages or disruptions to normal traffic flow, temporary parking areas, pedestrian routes, and any other elements affecting the normal condition. The plan shall indicate the location nature and timing of proposed temporary signing, barricades, channelization markers, flagpersons, and other proposed traffic control measures. 4. The applicant shall arrange for and provide all traffic control measures identified on the approved traffic control plan. The applicant may utilize private vendors or may request that the City, at applicant's expense, implement the traffic control measures required by the approved plan. 5. The event date shall be held on March 25, 1995. However, if poor weather conditions occur and affect the start of the Special event, the City Engineer can elect to permit the one-day event on an alternate date i.e., March 26, April 1, etc.) at his discretion. 6. All temporary traffic control devices shall be installed prior to the commencement of the one-day event. 7. No Parking" signs shall be posted along and adjacent to) the race course on March 24 stating that no parking can occur on March 25.
