RESOL*ON NO.95-20
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE AGREEMENT FOR
P*CIP*ON IN THE OPE*ONAL AREA ORGAN*ON
OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE
BE IT RESOLVED the potential for a *or catastrophe due to eaathquake, flood or other
natural or manmade disaster causes all governmental entities within Riverside County to be prepared to
share resources and information among themselves as well as within the State of California to protect the
public welfare; and
BE IT RESOLVED greater efficiency, planning and response can be achieved by joining the
efforts of the cities, special districts and the County together in pre-disaster agreements; and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the California Emergency Services Act makes reference
to the 9Operational Area" and defines it as an intermediate level of the State Emergency Services
Organization'1created to perform extraordinaay fi*nctions for both City and County governments within a
county area such as strengthening mutual coordination, providing a focal point and conduit for disaster
information and assisting in the efficient management of resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of La Quinta agrees to participate in the Operational Area
Organization of the County of Riverside, California.
