A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE FINAL
REPORT AND SURVEY DOCUMENTATION FOR THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY.
APPLICANT: CITY OF LA QUINTA
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta has been approved by the State of
California and the United States Department of the Interior to be a Certified Local
Government; and
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta, as a Certified Local Government, has
been invested with all the responsibilities and benefits of certification, including
conducting a survey of historic resources with the City; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.06.010 of the Historic Preservation Ordinance
requires that the City Council establish and maintain a historic resources inventory
according to the requirements of the State Historic Preservation Office; and
WHEREAS, Mellon and Associates conducted a City-wide Historic
Resources Survey for the City of La Quinta and submitted a Final Report and Survey
Documents as required; and
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission for th'e City of La Quinta
did at their regularly held meeting on the 1 61h day of October, 1 997, review the Final
Report and Survey Documents, and did accept same by Minute Motion, recommends
to the City Council acceptance of the City of La Quinta Historic Resources Survey Final
Report and Survey Documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of La Quinta, California, that the City has complied with the responsibility of
preparing a City-wide Historic Resources Survey and accepts the October 1, 1 997
survey as an official Historic Survey of the City of La Quinta.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the La Quinta
City Council held on the 1 81h day of November, 1 997, by the following vote:
