RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA APPOINTING CERTAIN
COUNTY OFFICERS TO SERVE AS CITY OFFICERS.
WHEREAS, the City of La Quinta has incorporated effective
May 1, 1982; and
WHEREAS, by the terms of the California Government Code the
County of Riverside is required to continue for a period beyond
said date to render services in, and on behalf of, the City of
La Quinta; and
HEREAS, in order for County officers to perform services
for the City of La Quinta, it is necessary to designate certain
County officers as City office?s;
NO?, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of La Quinta
does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The County Engineer of the County of Riverside
is appointed City Engineer of the City of La Quinta. The County
Engineer is hereby authorized to designate his Chief Deputy to
approve on his behalf any official City business under his
jurisdiction when it is necessary for him to be absent from his
place of work due to illness, official business, or vacation. To
expedite the approval of certain matters, the County Engineer may
delegate certain of his deputies to approve on his behalf city sani-
tary and storm drain plans, tentative subdivision requirements,
letters of transmittal, and reports on activities.
SECTION 2. The Road Commissioner of the County of Riverside
is appointed Superint?ndent of Streets of the City of La Quinta.
SECTION 3. The Sheriff of the County of Riv?rside is appointed
Chief of Police of the City of La Quinta and all Deputies of the
Sheriff of the County of Riverside are appointed police officers
of the City of La Quinta.
SECTION 4. The Riverside County Fire Warden is appointed
Fire Chief of the City of La Quinta.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall forward certified copies of
this Resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
