A RESOLUTION OF TFIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE RULES OF
PROCEDURE FOR COUNCIL M?ETINGS AND RELATED FUNCTIONS
AND ACTIVITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1.4 of the Rules of Procedure for Council
meetings is hereby amended to read:
1.4 STUDY SESSIONS:
Members of the Council may meet in a regular Study
Session at 11:00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the City
Hall on the Monday the first and third Tuesday
of each month. If such a day is a holiday recogni?ed by
the City, the Study Session shall be held at the same time
and place on the preceeding Friday. See 10.1)
SECTION 2. Section 10.1 of the Rules of Procedure for Council
meetings is hereby amended to read:
10.1 SCHEDULE OF STUDY SESSIONS:
Those Council Members who are able to attend will meet
in the Conference Room of the City Hall at 11:00 a.m. on
the Monday preceeding the first and third Tuesday of each
month for the purpose of reviewing the agenda for a Council
meeting and meeting and conferring with City commissions,
civic organizations and City officials relative to pending
City business. If such a day is a holiday recognized by
the City, the Study Session shall be held at the same time
and place on the preceeding Friday.
The time for study sessions as specified above may be altered
by the Council or by the Mayor on individual occasions when
appropriate to the convenience of the Council Members, provided
that when this occurs, written notice of the change shall be
delivered personally or by mail to each local newspaper of
general circulation, radio or television station at least
24 hours before the study session to be held at the changed
time. Each Council Member shall be notified of the changed
time personally or by whatever means the Mayor or City Manager
deem appropriate.
