Attached is a resolution reciting the results of the November 7, 1995 General Municipal
Election. Attached as Exhibit A" is the Certificate of the Registrar of Voters as to the results
of the canvass of election returns.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE
FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
ON THE 7TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1995, DECLARING
THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS
PROVIDED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of
La Quinta, California, on Tuesday, November 7, 1995, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as
provided by law; candidates were nominated to fill the vacancy or vacancies as provided by law;
voting precincts were properly established; election officers were appointed and in all respects
the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the
returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the laws
of the State of California relating to General Law Cities; and
WHEREAS, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters canvassed the returns of
the election and has certified the results to the City of La Quinta, and said results are received,
attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit A'; and
WHEREAS, said General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of electing
the following officers of said City as required by the laws relating to cities in the State of
California, to wit:
One 1) Mayor of the City Council of said City for the full term of two years;
Two 2) Members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the names of persons voted for at said election for Mayor of
the City Council of said City are as follows:

BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
Each year at this time, the City Council reorganizes, in that a Mayor Pro Tern is selected.
There are no adopted policies or guidelines for selection of the Mayor Pro Tern.
The Council traditionally reviews all Committee/Board assignments at this time. Attached is a
roster of all committees/boards along with meeting dates and current assignments.
