The consultant has substantially completed the plans and specifications and the project is ready to call for bids. This project proposes to install the initial street improvements in the new alignment for Avenue 52 from Washington Street to Avenida Bermudas. In general, the improvements will consist of two 16-foot wide lanes, one in each direction, separated by a 20-foot wide dirt median. The improvements are designed in a manner to accomodate the ultimate improvements with minimal adaptation. Other improvements included in the project are follows 1. A 2.5-foot high dirt berm that separates Avenida Nuestra and new Avenue 52. The berm is intended to act as a barrier to prevent illegal cross over traffic between these two streets. 2. Three permanent barricades on old Avenue 52 to close the old alignment to through traffic. One is to be located just east of the fire station; another just west of the old Washington Street intersection; and, the third one will be located at the east end of old Avenue 52 where the old pavement terminates. 3. Implement 4-way stop intersections at: New Avenue 52 and Washington Street; and, New Avenue 52/Avenida Sinaba and Avenida Bermudas. 4. Downgrade the 4-way stop at old Avenue 52 and Avenida Bermudas to a 2-way stop to permit the traffic on Avenida Bermudas to have non-stop right of way through the intersection. 2 Cu BIB] 02-02-1999-U01 11:31:35AM-U01 ADMIN-U01 CC-U02 10-U02 01-U02 1991-U02 ing -> 12= NOTEXTPAGE BIB] 02-02-1999-U01 11:31:35AM-U01 ADMIN-U01 CC-U02 10-U02 01-U02 1991-U02 ing -> 12>COUNCIL MEETING DATE: October 1, 1991 AGENDA CATEGORY: PUBLIC HEARING: ITEM TITLE: BUSINESS SESSION: Adoption of Resolution Urging Congress to Appropriate Funds for Acquisition of Lands in CONSENT CALENDAR: the Santa Rosa Mountains National Scenic Area.
