CC Resolution 1982-052'" RESOLUTION NO. 82-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING EFFORTS BY THE COVE COMMUNITIES SCHOOL DISTRICT STEERING COMMITTEE TO ESTABLISH A NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the steering Committee of the Cove Communities School District is striving to establish a new school district in an attempt to improve failing test scores and make the school district more responsive to the needs of students and parents; and WHEREAS, the Steering Committee of the Cove Communities School District believe that all the educational needs of our students will be better met through establishing a smaller district where parents and students may participate without geographical restraints; and WHEREAS, the funds for such a school district would be benerated from the State and have no effect on local property taxes or assessment districts; and WHEREAS, the Cove Communities School District would work to establish a four year high school within the geographical boundaries of the District and establish a curriculum to ensure the educational needs of the students are better met. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta, California, to support the efforts of the Cove Communities School District Committee and wish it success in its goals.
