CC Resolution 1982-063'S RESOLUTION NO. 82-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING THE
THANKS AND APPRECIATION OF THE COMMUNITY,
AND COMMENDING FORMER COUNCIL MEMBER
EUGENE F. ABBOTT.
WHEREAS, Eugene F. Abbott was elected to this City's first
City Council, at the incorporation election held on April 13,
1982; and
WHEREAS, he has served capably as a Council Member during
the City's difficult first months of organization and operations;
and
WHEREAS, he has contributed a very considerable amount of
time and energy toward the betterment of La Quinta; and
WHEREAS, he has served with distinction as Chairman of the
La Quinta Task Force Against Crime; and
WHEREAS, he has tirelessly listened to the problems and
concerns of constituents, and has worked diligently toward
achieving solutions to them; and
WHEREAS, his education and experience in public administration
has proved valuable in formulating the initial policies and
municipal code for the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of La Quinta does hereby express, on behalf of the community,
it's warm and sincere appreciation and thanks to Eugene F. Abbott,
for the outstanding public service he has performed during the
City's initial period of incorporation.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of Deceinber 1982.
