CC Resolution 1983-025' RESOLUTION NO. 83-25
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE RULES
OF PROCEDURE FOR COUNCIL MEETINGS AND RELATED
FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES, REGARDING TIMES AND
LOCATION OF REGULAR STUDY SESSIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Quinta,
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1.4 of the Rules of Procedure for Council
meetings is hereby amended to read:
1.4 STUDY SESSIONS
Members of the Council may meet in a regular Study
Session at 3:00 p.m. in its regular place of meeting on
the Monday preceding the first and third Tuesday of each
month. If such a day is a holiday recognized by the City,
the Study Session shall be held at the same time and
place on the preceding Friday. See 10.1)
SECTION 2. Section 10.1 of the Rules of Procedure for Council
meetings is hereby amended to read:
10.1 SCHEDULE OF STUDY SESSIONS
Those Council Members who are able to attend will meet
in the Council's regular place of meeting at 3:00 p.m. on
the Monday preceding the first and third Tuesdays of each
month for the purpose of reviewing the agenda for a Council
meeting and meeting and conferring with City commissions,
civic organizations and City officials relative to pending
City business. If such a day is a holiday recognized by
the City, the Study Session shall be held at the same time
and place on the preceding Friday.
The time or place for study sessions as specified above may
be altered by the Council or by the Mayor on individual
occasions when appropriate to the convenience of the Council
Members, provided that when this occurs, written notice of
the change shall be delivered personally, or by mail to each
local newspaper of general circulation, radio or television
station at least 24 hours before the study session to be held
at the changed time or location. Each Council Member shall
be notified of the changed time or location personally or by
whatever means the Mayor or City Manager deem appropriate.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall, as soon as practicable following
adoption of this Resolution, give notice of this rule change to all the
parties and media agencies listed in the second paragraph of Section 10.1
as set out above.
