A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA
CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA FOR
STUDY PURPOSES AND REQUESTING RIVERSIDE COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING REDEVELOPMENT
IN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY.
WHEREAS, Section 3310 of the California Community Redevelopment
Law Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 et. seq.) provides that
redevelopment survey areas may be resolution of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta desires that the
area of the City of La Quinta and certain portions of land in the
unincorporated territory of the County of Riverside hereinafter desiq-
nated be studied to determine whether a redevelopment project or projects
within said area are feasible; and
WHEREAS, Section 33213 of the California Redevelopment Law provides
by ordinance the Legislative body of a community may authorize the
redevelopment of an area within it? territorial limits by another community
if such area is contiguous to such other community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
La Quinta, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby designates as the La Quinta Redevelopment
Project Survey Area the area shown and described on the map attached
hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
2. The City Council hereby finds the designated Survey Area
requires study to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within
said area are feasible.
3. The Planning Commission is hereby requested to carry out such
study, and, in cooperation with the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency, to
select a redevelopment project area or pro?ect areas from said Survey
Area, and to formalize and adopt a preliminary plan for each project
area selected.
4. The City Manager is instructed formally to forward a copy of
this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Riverside County and
request on behalf of the La Quinta City Council that the Board of
Supervisors adopt as soon as possible an ordinance authorizing the City
of La Quinta, through the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency, to undertake
redevelopment of an area of the Survey area within the County's
territorial limits as provided pursuant to Section 33213 of the Health
and Safety Code.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of July 1983, by the
following roll call vote:
AYES: Coun?il Members Cox and Wolff.
NOES: None.
ABSTAIN: Council Member Henderson.
ABSENT: Council y!.ember Allen, Mayor Baier.

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LA UINTA TO UNDER-
TAKE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE UNINCORPORATED
TERRIROTY WITHIN THE SURVEY AREA FOR THE LA
QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Findings.
The City of La Q?inta has requested authorization pursuant to California
Health & Safety Code 33213 to undertake redevelopment of an area, the Survey
Area, located in part within the unincorporated territoy of the County of River-
side. The Survey Area is known as the La Quinta Redevelopment Project Survey
Area, the boundaries of which are illustrated and generally described in the
attached Exhibit A."
Based on its review of the La Quinta Redevelopment Project Survey Area
and other relevant information, this Board of Supervisors finds that it is in
the interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the City of La Quinta
to undertake redevelopment in the unincorporated territory located within the
Survey Area boundaries.
SECTION 2. The City of La Quinta is hereby authorized to undertake redevelop-
ment of the unincorporated territory of the County of Riverside included within
the La Quinta Redevelopment Project Survey Area.
