A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, ANNEXING CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY TO SAID CITY UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT
OF 1977, WHICH PROCEEDINGS ARE DESIGNATED AS
ANNEXATION NO. 1
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by Resolution No. 83-14
adopted on March 15, 1983, initiate annexation proceedings for
Annexation No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission held a public
hearing relative to Annexation No. 1 on August 11, 1983, and
September 8, 1983, and approved said Annexation and designated
the City of La Quinta as the Conducting Authority, with authori-
zation to proceed; and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed Public Hearing was held by the
City Council at an adjourned regular meeting of October 13, 1983,
at which time all persons desiring to be heard did give input,
and 32 written protests were filed by any owners of land
and improvements within the territory to be annexed, and said
number constitutes less than 25 percent of owners of land in said
territory and who also own less than 25 percent of the total
assessed value of land within said territory; and 57 written
protests were filed by registered voters residing within the
territory to be annexed, and said number constitutes less than
25 percent of the registered voters within the said territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the.
City of La Quinta, California, as follows:
1.) That the territory described in Exhibit *A'?? attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference, be, and the same is
hereby annexed, by this Resolution, to the City of La Quinta.
2.) That the City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed
to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to LAFCO along with
any other required submittals.

Being those portions of Sections 19, 20, 28, 29 and 30, Township 5
South, Range 7 East, San Bernardino Ease and Meridian, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 29, Township 5 South,
Range 7 East, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, also being a point on the
existina Citv Limits??it5 of La Quinta, said point being the intersection of
the centerlines of 48th Avenue and Jefferson Street;
1) Thence North 880 33' 30" West, 5292.80 feet along said centerline of
48th Ave., also being the South line of Section 29, to the point of inter
section with the centerline of Adams Street;
2) Thence'North 000 22' 00" West, 1325.80 feet along said centerline of
Adams Street to the one-sixteen?h corner;
3) Thence North 000 20' 00.' West, 1327.90 feet along said centerline to
the West quarter corner of Section 29;
4) Thence North 000 23' 00" West, 1763.25 feet along said centerline,
also being the existing City Limits of La Quinta, to the point of inter-
section with the Southerly property line of the Coachella Valley Stor?water
Channel, as shown on Map 800-N, on file in?the Office of the County Surveyor,
Riverside County, California.
The following 3. courses are along said Southerly line of the said
Coachella Valley Storrnwater Channel, as shown on Map 800-N;
5) Thence Northwesterly along an arc of curve, concave to the right,
having a radius of 4500.00 feet, through a central angle of 240 10' 32",
a distance of 1898.74 feet;
6) Thence North 460 04' 20" West, a distance of 583.79 to a point of
tangent curve'.
7) Thence Westerly and Northwesterly along an arc of curve, concave to
the left, having a radius of 2000.00 feet, through a central angle of
150 25' 53", a distance of 767.91 feet, to a point of intersection with
