A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
COACHELLA VALLEY FRINGE-TOED LIZARD HABITAT
CONSERVATION PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES FISH AND
WILDLIFE SERVICE FOR A SECTION bA PERMIT
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed Habitat
Conservation Plan for the Fringe-Toed Lizard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing December 18,
1984, and tentatively approved the Habitat Conservation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the modifications
resulting from the Executive Committee meeting of CVAG on
January 9, 1985, and found them to be acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of La Quinta
does hereby RESOLVE that the Habitat Conservation Plan for the
Coachella Valley Fringe-Toed Lizard as modified by those certain
amendments approved by the Executive Committee of CVAG at its
meeting held January 9, 1985, is hereby approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is
authorized and directed to execute necessary agreements as
approved by the City Attorney and an application addressed to the
United States Fish and Wildlife Service requesting a permit pursuant
to Section bA of the Endangered Species Act which application shall
be consistent with the Coachella Valley Fringe-Toed Lizard Habitat
Conservation Plan.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of February 1985, by
the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Allen, Bohnenberger, Pena, Wolff and Mayor
Cox.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None. I
