1993 09 21 RDA Minutes LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MINUTES SEPTEMBER 21, 1993 Regular meeting of the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency was called to order by Chairman Pena. PRESENT: Members Bangerter, McCartney, Perkins, Sniff, Chairman Pena. ABSENT: None CONFIRMATION OF AGENDA Confirmed APPROVAL OF M?UTES MOTION It was moved by Members Bangerter/Sniff that the Minutes of March 16, 1993; June22, 1993; July 6, 1993; August 3, 1993; and September 7; 1993 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanirnously PUBLIC COMMENT Katie Barrows, 53-277 Avenida Diaz, commented that the Bureau of Land Management has been acquiring land in La Quinta and has recently submitted a proposal for additional land at the southern end of the Cove. She stated that she is in support of their efforts and asked that the Board Members also support them. Chairman Pena advised that hey will be discussing this matter in closed session. Paula Norton, 49-005 Tango Court, advised that she submitted the letter to the Redevelopment Agency relative to the Bureau of Land Management land acquisition and offered to answer any questions they may have. BUSINESS SESSION 1. TRANSMITTAL OF TREASURER'S REPORT DATeD JULY 31, 1993. MOTION It was moved by Members Sniff/McCartney to receive and file the July 31, 993 Treasurer's Report. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF DEMAND REGISTeR DATED AUGUST 17, AND SEPT"EMBER 7, 1993. 2. APPROVAL OF SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH GREENWICH CAPITOL MARKETS INC. AND MICHAEL HOWE. 3. APPROVAL OF CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER 92-1-01 FOR COMPLETION OF STORM DRAIN FACILITIES. MOTION It was moved by Members Sniff/McCartney that the Consent Calendar be approved as recommended. Motion carried unanirnously. CHAIR AND BOARD MEMBER ITEMS Member Perkins commented that he would like the signs enlarged On various projects so they can be seen from a distance. He requested that the City Manager check into this matter. Chairman Pena suggested that the Redevelopment Agency set aside Agency finds for natural disaster emergencies to assist local businesses in low interest loans. These funds could be accessed much sooner while waiting for assistance from the Government. He directed staff to also check into this matter. The Board concurred. PUBLIC HEARINGS None.
