A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF LA QUINTA REDEVELOMENT PROJECT, AND IN
IMPLEMENTING SAID PROJECT HAS RECOGNIZED THE
SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS WHICH CANNOT
BE AVOIDr.Th. IF THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS IYipLEMENTED,
MAKES F NGc.. WITH RESPECT TO SAID EFFECTS AND
STATEME OF FACTS IN SUPPORT THEREOF.
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the City to eliminate blight
throughout major portions of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment A-ency has cause to prepare a
Final Environmental Impact Report hereinafter FEIR) and certified
as to the adequacy, accuracy, Objectivity, and completeness of the
FEIR in Resolution RA-83-21 and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency will implement the redev-
elopment project at such time as the City Council approves an
ordinance for said redevelopment project; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment has adopted Resolution RA-83-22
recognizing certain overriding considerations to adverse impacts
in support of its actions in implementing the redeveloping project;
and
WHEREAS, the California Environmental Quality Act hereinafter
CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines provide that no public agency
shall approve or carry out a project for which an EIR has been completed
and which identifies one or more significant effects of the project
unless the public agency makes written findings for each of the
significant effects, accompanied by a statement of facts supporting
each finding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the La Quinta
Redevelopment Agency, after certification of the Final EIR and
adopting a Statement of Overriding Considerations, adopts the CEQA
Findings and Statement of Facts as attached hereto and incorporated
herein by this reference.
Passed, adopted, and approved by the Redevelopment Agency of
the City of La Quinta, California, at a regular adjourned meeting
on the 15th day of NOvtr 1983, by the following vote:
AYES: Agency rribcrs Allen, Wolff and Chairman Baier
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Agency Mebber Cox.
ABSTAIN: Agency Member Henderson.
