A RESOLUTION OF THE LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS
BY AND BETWEEN THE LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY AND TAXING ENTITIES WITH TERRITORY
IN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA NO. 2
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 139, the City Council of the City
of La Quinta the City Council") approved the Redevelopment
Plan the Plan") for the La Quinta Redevelopment Project No. 2
the Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes provisions for tax increment
financing; and
WHEREAS, based upon information presented on behalf of the
County of Riverside, the Riverside County Free Library
District, the Riverside County Strucitural Fire District, the
County of Riverside Superintendent of Schools, the Coachella
Valley Water District, the Coachella Valley Recreation and Park
District, the Desert Community College DistZict, the Desert
Sands Unified School District and the Coachella Valley Mosquito
Abatement District collectively, the Taxing Entities") it
appears that the Plan will cause a financial burden or
detriment to the Taxing Entities and that certain payments are
necessary to alleviate such financial burden or detriment; and
WHEREAS, the Taxing Entities have approved or are
scheduling for approval the respective agreements which are
attached hereto as Exhibits A" through G", inclusive, which
Exhibits are incorporated by reference herein and which provide
for certain payments to the Taxing Entities, which payments
will alleviate any adverse fiscal impact on the Taxing Entities
resulting from the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE LA QUINTA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: TheZAgency finds that the Plan will cause a
financial burden or detriment to the Taxing Entities and that
the payments as are provided for in the attached agreements are
necessary to alleviate the financial burden or detriment of the
Taxing Entities.
Section 2: The Chairman and the Secretary of the Agency
are authorized to execute the attached agreements, and to cause
payments to be made to the Taxing Entities pursuant to such
agreements.
