AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTERS 2.08.060 and
2.10.030 OF THE LA QUINTA MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING TO POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE CITY
MANAGER AND CITY CLERK
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Quinta ("City
Council") desires to amend Chapters 2.08.060 and 2.10.030
relating the the powers, duties and functions of the City
Manager and City Clerk in order to comport to current practices;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA QUINTA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Chapter 2.0.8 City Manager
Section 1. Title 2, Chapter 2.08, Section 2.08.060,
subsection (B) of the La Quinta Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
B. Appoint, remove, promote and demote any
and all officers and employees of the city except
elective officers, the city attorney and city
clerk, subject to all applicable personnel rules
and regulations which may be adopted by the city
council;
Chapter 2.10 City Clerk
Section 2: Title 2, Chapter 2.10, Section 2.10.030,
subsection (B)(6) of the La Quinta Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
6. Prepare the council agendas in conjunction
with the city manager;
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it to be posted
or published in the manner required by law.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of La Quinta, California, on this 17th day of per -ember ,
